Aims: The GENERAL SCOPE of this project is the organisation of a “Eurothon”, a European festival focused on Europe as a great motherland of the future with debates on roots, threats and ideal horizons, to explore and discuss the values and history of Europe. Final aim is properly to broaden and strengthen youngsters’ civic engagement and participation in democratic processes, through their active participation in this training pathway having an integrative, student-centered and action-oriented approach.
Specific Objectives
- Enhance young people’s civic participation, providing them with the right information, tools and channels to make their voices heard by policy makers and relevant organisations and stand up as tomorrow's change makers & new EU ambassadors.
- Increase social inclusion of young people on European values, while promoting intercultural dialogue and acceptance of diversity and tolerance, thanks to the involvement in the Eurothon festival.
- Strengthen young people's sense of initiative, notably in the social field to support their communities, during the active participation in the festival & thanks to the best practices included in the toolkit.
- Promote equal learning, collaborative work and self-learning, through the involvement of young people in the Eurothon online area.
Target Groups: The target groups of the project are young people between 18-30 years old and activists who are active in and for NGOs, youth organizations or wider civil society organizations. Also young people willing to take up and play a more active role as EU Influencer or EU cultural Ambassador in their capacity of European Citizen individually or as a present/future member of a youth or wider European Civil Society organization. Also social enterprises and entrepreneurs, policy makers, public institutions and members of the press are targeted by the Eurothon Project.
